The public dataset currently contains 2,443 court-adjudicated records against public servants — 522 civil servants and 1,921 police records, from 1168 Supreme Court / High Court judgments and 1275 trial-court convictions from 34 states and union territories. A further 22 trial-court convictions later set aside on appeal are kept out of the counts. Counts show recorded allegations regardless of their individual evidence position; they are not counts of proven misconduct. These records are not a representative sample, and they do not claim to estimate the prevalence of misconduct across India. This collection covers only judgments with adverse findings against public servants; acquittals and exonerations on the same facts are retained when found.
Cases by category
Each case carries one site category with exactly one Primary allegation. Click a category to reveal its sub-category breakdown. Trial-court findings are verified to a lower standard than High Court / Supreme Court judgments. Counts show recorded allegations regardless of their individual evidence position; they are not counts of proven misconduct.
What the courts decided
Each case carries one outcome type. Compensation figures are amounts ordered, not amounts shown paid or recovered.
Cases by state / UT
Coverage reflects what the discovery index returned and what verifiers could corroborate. Absence is not evidence of absence.
Cases by decade of judgment or conviction
Judgments and convictions span 1885–2026. Recent judgments may still be under appeal.

How far material facts have been verified
Verification describes the support for material facts. V2 records rest on an authenticated, attributed judgment; V3 requires a recorded authenticity check plus human review, and is rare.
| Status | Meaning | Published records |
|---|---|---|
| V2 | An attributable claim or public record has been reviewed | 1168 records |
| V3 | At least one material fact has been independently corroborated | 0 records |
What we checked, and what we did not
Each dated follow-up check targets one institutional action or one precisely stated question and records its author, approver, and approval time. A check older than 180 days is shown as stale; its original date and finding remain visible.
| Proceeding | Actions | Never re-checked | Followed up | Stale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Acquitted on appeal | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
| Appeal pending | 22 | 22 | 0 | 0 |
| Conviction | 221 | 221 | 0 | 0 |
| Order issued | 1168 | 1168 | 0 | 0 |
| Order set aside | 6 | 6 | 0 | 0 |
What institutions did
Appeals are separate actions linked to the decision under review. Recent judgments may still face appeal; initiation or pendency of an appeal is not a finding. Acquittals, exonerations, dismissals, and relief denied are retained alongside convictions and relief granted.
