CW-2021-0016Rajkot, GujaratJudgment 26 August 2021

District Police Unarmed Police Constable vs State of Gujarat

On 26 August 2021 the Gujarat High Court dismissed the writ petition of an Unarmed Police Constable and left his removal from service undisturbed. The court recorded that on 5 September 2001 the petitioner was found intoxicated in public at 11:30 pm, quarrelling and talking nonsense, that the inquiry officer held the charge proved in May 2002, and that the Superintendent of Police, Rajkot (Rural) removed him in September 2002, a penalty confirmed in departmental appeal and review. The court held prior record had played no part in the penalty and found the petition devoid of merits. Matters not addressed in the cited judgment text are not recorded here.
