CW-2019-0022Bokaro, JharkhandJudgment 7 January 2019

Bokaro Police personnel v. State of Jharkhand and Others

Police official [name withheld] was dismissed on 14.09.1996 by the Superintendent of Police, Bokaro (then in undivided Bihar), after a departmental inquiry found he collected money from truck drivers and declared a false identity when caught red-handed; his appeal (1997) and memorial (1998) were rejected. He sought parity with three others exonerated in the same inquiry. The Court held he had repeatedly failed to appear despite opportunities, the punishment commensurated with the charge and was not disproportionate, and concurrent findings disclosed no illegality. The writ application was dismissed. Matters not addressed in the cited judgment text are not recorded here.
