Author and researcher a Wayanad man was detained and interrogated by police in Wayanad on 20 May 2014 on suspicion of being a Maoist, a suspicion the court found was not based on any valid material, and his residence was thereafter searched by officers accompanied by Thunderbolt commandos without following CrPC procedure.
