Jharkhand Police Constable vs The State of Jharkhand and Others

The Jharkhand High Court Division Bench, condoning 17 days delay, dismissed the Letters Patent Appeal of Tiger Mobile constable against his dismissal dated 31 March 2010. The court found a regular departmental enquiry with medical evidence proved he consumed liquor on duty and, in a drunken state, pointed the government revolver at a fellow constable, constituting gross indiscipline on its face. The court held the writ court order of 12 December 2014 suffered from no infirmity on facts or law, with two authorities concurrently affirming the dismissal. The dismissal therefore stands. Matters not addressed in the cited judgment text are not recorded here.
