This page records what the cited court records say happened. Findings belong to the court or authority that made them; this register adds none of its own. Names of private individuals are withheld unless a naming gate clears them.
How we verify →Proceedings against the customer stand quashed; no trial remains against that person.
What happened
The High Court recorded that FIR No. 48 of 2019 alleged singers and waitresses were forced to dance and that owners and staff incited dancers, leading to a raid at a bar on Sahar Road, Andheri East.
The High Court recorded that witnesses named four other persons as throwing notes but listed the applicant only at serial 6 among customers sitting in the bar.
The High Court recorded that no witness said the applicant threw notes, that no allegation said the applicant touched any woman, and that the state could point to no specific overt act.
The High Court held mere presence where women allegedly danced obscenely is not enough and quashed the FIR, chargesheet and C.C. No. 3183/PW/2019 against the applicant.
No complaining victim
The customer was punished only for being present and watching adult dancing, with no victim, touching, or money-throwing attributed to that person.
What we could not confirm
The wider FIR alleged owners and staff forced or incited dancers, but the court found no such allegation against this applicant. Incident address and Andheri location are from the judgment; sub-district classification as Mumbai Suburban is inferred.
