What happened
TNEB was formed 1 July 1957 under the Electricity (Supply) Act 1948, and under section 131 of the Electricity Act 2003 was restructured on 01-11-2010 into TNEB Limited, TANGEDCO and TANTRANSCO; G.O.Ms.No.114 Energy (B2) dated 08-10-2008 stipulated the companies shall be fully owned by Government (source: TNPDCL official profile).
