What happened

The Authority's official about page states that the Kerala Water Supply and Sewerage Act 1986 (Act 14 of 1986) replaced the 1984 ordinance, and describes KWA as one of the nodal agencies for implementing water supply and sewerage schemes in the State, with organised piped water supply in Kerala dating to the early twentieth century.

On 13 March 2026 the Authority reported the construction launch of the first phase of the Koipram drinking-water scheme after a nine-year wait, inaugurated by Minister Veena George with Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustin joining online (facts translated from the official Malayalam post).

The post describes a Rs 260 crore comprehensive Jal Jeevan Mission scheme covering seven village councils (Koipram, Puramattam, Thottapuzhassery, Ezhumattoor, Iraviperoor, Kalloppara, Kunnanthananm) across Aranmula, Thiruvalla and Ranni constituencies, termed the district's largest drinking-water scheme, to supply treated water to 1.5 lakh people; current works costing Rs 109.5 crore include a 40-million-litre treatment plant and a 12-metre-diameter intake well, with Rs 10.58 crore of state funds for land at Poovathoor.

KWA's finance-and-accounts page lists Annual Accounts, Budget Estimates, Receipts and Payments, Income and Expenditure and Audit Reports sections, but no figures were readable in the fetched excerpts, so enterprise financials and headcount are left null.

What we could not confirm

Enterprise-level financials and employee strength could not be confirmed from readable official pages, so both are null; the Rs 260 crore and Rs 109.5 crore figures are project costs, not enterprise revenue. Scheme details are translated from the Authority's Malayalam post. Shareholding is null because KWA is a statutory body with no share capital.
