What happened
HPFC's official website says it is jointly owned by the Himachal Pradesh Government and SIDBI, operates under State Government administrative control, and has ceased making new loans.
The FY2025-26 annual report records revenue of Rs 232.52 lakh, expenditure of Rs 164.99 lakh and a net surplus of Rs 128.59 lakh after reversal of NPA provision.
The auditors reported NPAs of Rs 47.29 crore, accumulated losses of Rs 179.83 crore and negative net worth at 31 March 2026. They also noted that financing activities had been discontinued and the entire outstanding loan portfolio comprised NPAs.
